Six Exercises Worksheet
Steiner's Six Basic Exercises
Daily Practice Worksheet for Spiritual Development
Practice Schedule: Each exercise for one month (4 weeks) before adding the next. After 6 months, practice all six together for balance.
Timing: 5 minutes minimum per exercise. Same time each day builds stronger results.
Key: Consistency matters more than duration. Missing one day is fine. Missing two breaks the rhythm.
Choose a simple, uninteresting object (paperclip, button, pencil). Think about it exclusively for 5 minutes. Consider its manufacture, materials, purpose, history. When thoughts wander, gently return.
Choose a simple action to perform at the exact same time every day. Not something you already do - something arbitrary you choose solely for this exercise. Example: Touch your right ear at 3:15pm.
Exact Time: _______________
Cultivate balance between joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain. Don't suppress feelings - experience them fully while maintaining an inner observer.
Seek the good, true, and beautiful in every experience, person, and situation. Not naive optimism - genuine effort to perceive what is valuable even in the difficult.
_____________________________________________
Meet every new experience with complete openness. Overcome the habit of saying "that's impossible" or "I already know about that." Leave room for the completely new.
_____________________________________________
Practice all five previous exercises together in varying combinations. Bring them into natural harmony so they become second nature rather than separate efforts.
